Mrs. Bolton was a very prolific artist. Although she did not keep complete records of her work, we estimate she did well over 7000 paintings, spanning the 40 years that she painted. It was common for her to have
three paintings in process at once. She loved to draw and paint!
She also didn't consistently record the images of her work, only occasionally taking snapshots of them. From those photographs, our family has compiled a record of her work, and we are sharing a few with you now. Titles, dimensions, and dates are mostly unknown, except we do know that she began signing her paintings with a cross before her name in the early '80s.
Her favorite medium was watercolor, yet she was quite adept at other mediums such as charcoal and pastel. We have noted under the image when the medium is other than watercolor. Her common choice for size was either 22" X 30" or
15" X 22", although she did paint smaller at times.
We will continually update information on each image as it becomes available. We hope you enjoy these works of art as the beauty of life seen through her eyes!
